Teachers told to stay home on September 7th to “rest and reflect”

Teachers are being told to stay away from school next week Friday to support the Joint Trade Union Movement’s day of rest and reflection.

Originally scheduled to target issues like crime and unemployment, the day is also now expected to symbolize support for JTUM against Petrotrin’s refinery shutdown.

TTUTA President Lynsley Doodhai believes the workers it represents should also “rest and reflect”.
