103 year old woman survives COVID-19

A 103-year-old woman from Mexico, who contracted COVID-19, has been discharged from hospital.

According to a report on BBC News, doctors say Doña María had been in good spirits throughout her 11 days in hospital.

There she had been chatting with staff and telling them to take care with their health.

AFP reported that the woman tested positive for the virus but, despite her pulmonary problems, did not have other aggravating factors such as diabetes, obesity or high blood pressure.

In a video released by Mexico’s Social Security Institute she can be seen applauding her carers and heard telling doctors she will pray for their safety.
