Two additional COVID-19 related fatalities have been recorded, taking T&T’s death toll to 78.
According to the Health Ministry, the latest fatalities are an elderly male and an elderly female, both with pre-existing conditions.
Additionally, 80 new cases of COVID -19 have been confirmed.
Seven persons have also been discharged from public health facilities, and there are 66 more recovered community cases.
Recovered community cases refer to persons who were in self-isolation at home after testing positive, and have since met the discharge criteria to be released from self-isolation.
As of this morning, there are 1,829 active cases of COVID-19.
Of these, 103 persons are hospitalized, including nine in the Intensive Care Unit and nine in the High Dependency Unit.
13 are also in step-down facilities while the rest are in self isolation at home.
Since the start of the pandemic, T&T has confirmed 4,709 cases of COVID-19.
