An Arima man will spend 15 months in jail with hard labour after being found driving while disqualified from holding a drivers’ permit.
Devon Austin was arrested on May 1st 2021 when a Nissan Almera playing loud music was stopped.
When asked for his permit, he reportedly told police he left it home however, the officer was able obtain his permit number and realized he was disqualified.
Austin was also charged with driving without a valid policy of insurance.
The TTPS is now warning persons who have been disqualified from holding a permit to cease and desist from driving as they can be immediately arrested without a warrant.
