17 Venezuelans appear in court for illegally entering T&T


    Seventeen Venezuelans have appeared in court for illegally entering the country.

    According to the Newsday Newspaper, they stood before Senior Magistrate Jo-Anne Connor yesterday and pled guilty to the charge.

    It is reported that some of them told the Magistrate that they came by boat in the Gulf of Paria and they had been staying in the mountains.

    Each person, except for a 20 year old man, was fined $3,000 and they have three months to pay or they could face six months in jail.
