3 in court for raping Venezuelan woman

    A PH taxi driver was granted $150,000 bail and two others were remanded into custody for the alleged rape of a Venezuelan woman.

    22-year-old Joshua Ramlakhan, was charged along with 28-year-old landscaper Terrence Robinson, and 28-year-old mechanic Joel Williams.

    They were not called upon to plead before Chaguanas Adrian Darmanie and are expected to reappear before the court on May 17th.

    Ramlakhan meanwhile must observe a curfew which begins at 9pm and runs until 6am every day.

    A Venezuelan woman told police that on October 13th 2020, she boarded a PH taxi with two other male passengers at Isaac Junction, Couva, and asked to be taken to Freeport.

    She was instead allegedly taken to a pavilion in Carapichaima where she was raped by all three.
