Four locals and two Venezuelans have been charged with the murder of a Chinese national during an invasion at Happiness Supermarket in Barataria.
Around 3:45am on August 23rd, several persons armed with knives and cutlasses broke into the business and went to the upper floor where seven Chinese nationals lived.
A struggle ensued during which time several persons were wounded, including Xiangong Phang who later died at hospital.
Responding officers held eight persons, however two were subsequently released.
In addition to murder, the six have also been charged with robbery with violence and burglary.
They will appear virtually before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate tomorrow, Tuesday September 1st, 2020.
The suspects are between the ages of 21 and 28.
