$60K bail for Tunapuna man over alleged purchase of drinks with dishonoured cheque


    A Tunapuna man has been granted $60,000 bail charged with buying over $5,000 worth of drinks through a dishonoured cheque.

    58-year-old Jeremiah Manrakhan appeared before a Justice of the Peace on May 3rd and is due in court on June 3rd 2021.

    In May 2020, the accused allegedly purchased the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from a distributor but the bankers’ cheque was found to be dishonoured.

    He was informed of this via registered mail as efforts to contact him provided futile, however, he reportedly failed to make any payments.
