75 T&T nationals repatriated from St Vincent


    75 T&T nationals were successfully repatriated from St Vincent via the Galleons Passage.

    According to the National Security Ministry, they arrived this morning and are currently under quarantine in accordance with COVID-19 protocols.

    260 tonnes of relief items collected by the ODPM were also successfully transported to Kingstown, St. Vincent via the Galleons Passage and a C26 Aircraft attached to the T&T Defence Force.

    These included water, food essentials, sanitary supplies, tents, medical supplies, hygiene materials, cleaning supplies, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other requested items such as water tanks and buckets.

    The ODPM is also reportedly coordinating the shipment of a further 100 pallets of water this afternoon via Tropical Shipping.

    50 members of the T&T Defence Force were dispatched to and remain in St. Vincent to provide humanitarian assistance in light of activity at the La Soufriere Volcano.
