Eight persons were arrested, a quantity of marijuana seized and a stolen vehicle recovered, as police carried out an anti-crime exercise in Port of Spain yesterday.
A 25 year old Morvant suspect was held for being in possession of a silver Kia Sportage, which had been reported stolen.
In separate incidents, a 28 year old Port of Spain man was detained for the possession of 7.8 grams of marijuana, while six others were arrested in connection with outstanding warrants.
Road check exercises were also conducted along Independence Square, South Quay and in the vicinity of Hilton Hotel.
During this time, 33 fixed penalty tickets were issued, 15 illegal tints were removed from vehicles and 52 field interview forms were completed.
