Eight Venezuelan nationals, including a teenager, are among nine persons arrested in Point Fortin on Sunday for being in possession of firearms and ammunition.
The Venezuelans were also residing in the country illegally.
Officers went to a house on Warden Road, where a 28 year old local fisherman and two Venezuelans were held for possession of two guns and nine bullets.
There, two women and a 15 year old girl, also from Venezuela, were detained.
Officers then went to Spring Trace where they searched an apartment and found a loaded gun, and three Venezuelan men who were in there at the time, were arrested.
The police also went to a forested area in Cap De Ville and found two AR-15 rifles with two magazines and 64 rounds of ammo.
