Approximately 12 sites across Trinidad and Tobago will get solar energy systems installed through a 2.4-million-euro project.
According to the Planning Ministry, it is collaborating with the European Union’s Global Climate Change Alliance Plus and the United Nations Development Programme.
NGOs, public sector and private companies and individuals are being urged to select the sites for the project via an application form on the Planning Ministry’s website.
After the deadline on August 28th 2020, the selected sites will have small-scale roof-mounted, off grid, solar installations.
The Ministry says this will help in the country’s plan to increase the availability of renewable energy in T&T.
The project will also include the strengthening and implementation of renewable energy and energy efficiency policies, legislative and regulatory frameworks and a public education and awareness campaign.
