Citizens are being blinded by race and the emotions coming from that are destructive, according to Port of Spain Archbishop Jason Gordon.
Speaking at this morning’s mass at the archbishop’s chapel, he warned that a heat is building up and it has a racial tone to it.
However, Mr Gordon reminds that, regardless of ethnicity, residents remain nationals of T&T.
Mr Gordon also urged persons to call out racial behaviour and not allow it to have a space in the country.
Also responding to the post-election developments is the Catholic Commission for Social Justice which called on citizens to denounce racism.
It warned that once racism exists, justice and peace will never become a reality.
