Usain Bolt says he woke up today to see social media posts about him testing positive for COVID-19 – however, the sprint star is still waiting for official confirmation.
The Olympic winner posted a video to Twitter this afternoon in which he says he took the test on Saturday and remains quarantined as a precaution.
His clarification comes after a report by Nationwide News stated that he had tested positive.
However, Bolt notes that he will continue to await word from Jamaica’s Health Ministry and is also waiting on information regarding any protocols to be followed.
The athlete also says he has contacted any friends he has been in contact with recently asking them to also self isolate until the test result comes in.
