Carpenter charged with sexual offences against a minor


    A 39-year-old carpenter was granted $250,000 bail when he appeared in court yesterday charged with sexual offences against a minor.

    He is accused of one count of sexual penetration and one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

    As part of the bail conditions, the accused was ordered to stay 300 feet away from the victim, he cannot visit her home or school and is to report to the Princes Town Police Station two days per week.

    Princes Town Magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine also ordered him to reappear before the court on July 19th.

    The victim was allegedly at her home on June 16th 2022, when a man assaulted her and engaged in a sexual act in her presence.

    A report was made to the police on the next day with the suspect subsequently arrested.
