A mock polling station will be set up next week, in help guide health protocols that will be put in place for the August 10th General Election.
The date was announced by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley yesterday, with the Parliament officially dissolved at midnight.
During today’s Health Ministry media briefing, Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram acknowledged concerns about the health precautions at polling stations.
He adds however that steps are being taken to establish working protocols, including the setting up of a mock polling station next week Tuesday.
Also speaking this morning was Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh, who urged people to wear their mask properly.
This follows concerns that persons are not covering their nose, or are pulling off their mask when talking to others.
