There have been cases internationally of “Long COVID” – instances where persons take weeks or even months to recover from the virus.

The term was used by Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram, who reminded that since this virus is new to humans, scientists are still learning about how it affects the body.

Dr Parasram was speaking during today’s health briefing.

Underscoring this point as well was Dr Andre Earle, who has been treating COVID-19 patients in T&T.

He stresses that the virus is not an elderly person’s illness.
