An unvaccinated patron will be allowed into a Safe Zone if they have a medical exemption or deferral certificate, as well as a negative COVID-19 test no more than 48 hours old.

The Safe Zone initiative, which began on Monday, includes restaurants, bars, gaming houses, betting pools, cinemas, theatres, private members’ clubs, gyms, fitness studios and waterparks.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram, at today’s Health Ministry media briefing, clarified the policy regarding unvaccinated patrons.

On the other hand, as per the regulations, vaccinated patrons must present a valid vaccination card or copy and a valid form of ID.

Meanwhile, 33 Safe Zone establishments in the St Andrew/St David County were assessed yesterday.

According to County Medical Officer Dr Allana Quamina-Best, one bar owner was referred to the TTPS for allegedly not having proof of vaccination.

This, she said, was the only breach found.
