There should be continuous reviews of government’s revenue projections according to the Trade Minister.
Mrs Paula Gopee-Scoon today spoke at AMCHAM’s post-budget discussions, where concerns were again raised about government’s estimation of earnings in 2021.
AMCHAM President Patricia Ghany reiterated the belief that there may be mid-year revenue cuts due to the optimistic projections.
However, Minister Gopee-Scoon says all ministers will have to be involved in regular checks on finances.
Meanwhile, President Ghany once again called on government and opposition to work together to pass critical legislation.
According to her, these include laws to improve tax collection, public procurement legislation and the Bail Amendment Bill.
