Over $329 million has been spent to provide COVID-19 relief to 173,020 Trinidadians according to the Social Development Minister.
Ms Donna Cox made this revelation during her contribution to the debate of the 2021 national budget.
She says Tobago has seen over $12 million spent to provide food and income support to 5,535 applicants.
Her comments come despite continued claims that persons are still awaiting relief, months after applying.
She also believes the budget for the 2021 fiscal year has ensured that the most vulnerable have access to a safety net, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
