This Thursday, production at DESALCOTT’s Point Lisas Desalination Plant will be cut back in order to carry out emergency repair works.
The plant normally supplies WASA with 40 million gallons of water daily (mgd) which is normally sent to the Point Lisas Industrial Estate, and also augments the supply to Central and South West Trinidad.
On Thursday however, production will be reduced to 10 mgd, from 8:30am to 5:30pm.
Areas to be affected include:
- St. Helena
- Claxton Bay
- Gulf View
- Union Hall
- La Romaine
- Rambert Village
- San Francique
WASA adds that it may take up to 24 hours for the supply to normalize to some affected areas, after the Plant returns to full operation.
