Driver in court for deadly Beetham accident

A man has appeared in court charged in connection with an accident that claimed the lives of chef Joe Brown and British citizen Joanna Banks on November 10th last year.

Junior McIntyre surrendered to police over the weekend and was charged with: causing the death of Brown and Banks by way of dangerous driving, as well as driving dangerously.

According to the Express, when he appeared before Port of Spain Senior Magistrate Cherril-Anne Antoine today, only the third charge was read and a “not guilty” plea was entered.

The Magistrate upheld the $200,000 bail granted previously by a Justice of the Peace, and ordered McIntyre to reappear on September 4th.
