Education Minister admits to recent “spiralling” of student indiscipline

Education Minister Anthony Garcia has admitted to a recent “spiraling” of student indiscipline, mostly involving female students.

The Minister spoke during a media briefing today to discuss the issue.

The Minister says there have been about “five or six serious cases” including one in which a female student smashed the windscreen of a teacher’s vehicle with a brick.

Mr Garcia says all the students involved have been suspended, and applications for the suspensions to be extended have been approved.

The Ministry meanwhile is looking to establish learning enhancement centers, to help get undisciplined students back on track.
