An emergency stakeholder meeting will be held in Arima on Monday to discuss the possible relocation of the Arima Hindu School, due to an upsurge in violence on the Temple Street area.
Parents are concerned after a murder occurred just outside the school last week Thursday, which forced officials of the school to close their doors with all students and staff inside the building.
Since then, parents have not been sending their children to classes out of fear for their children’s’ safety.
A possible relocation for the school has been considered at the UTT Campus in Arima, but this has not been confirmed.
A letter has been sent to the Arima Mayor requesting the Arima Town Hall to be used as a venue to discuss matters relating to the future of the 200 plus students at the school.
This request has since been approved by the Mayor and the meeting is scheduled to be at 5pm on Monday.
