Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says Chadwick Boseman’s character in the “Black Panther” sequel was not recast following his death, since “it was much too soon”.

Boseman died in 2020 at the age of 43 from colon cancer.

It came as a shock to many, since the actor had not gone public with his illness.

Questions rose about how the Black Panther franchise would handle his death, and fans were split between the possibility of a recast.

In an interview with Empire magazine, Feige said “The world is still processing the loss of Chad. And Ryan poured that into the story.”

The “Ryan” referred to is Ryan Coogler, who directed both “Black Panther” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” which is due to hit theaters on November 11th.
