Netflix’s first Indian original series to stream in September

Shah Rukh Khan has teased “Bard of Blood” which is Netflix’s first original project in India.

The series will hit the streaming service on 27th September, 2019.

It will be available to some 149 million users across 190 countries.

The eight episode series stars Emraan Hashmi, Amyra Dastur, Shashank Arora, Kirti Kulhari, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vineet Kumar Singh, Jaideep Ahlawat, Suhail Nayyar, Danish Hussain, Amit Bimrot, Akshat R Chopra and Ajay Mahendru.

It’s being co-produced by  Shah Rukh Khan and his company Red Chillies Entertainment.

The show is based on the book by Bilal Siddiqi, which explores global terrorism.

It follows an expelled spy who is recalled from his new life as a Shakespeare professor to save his country and long-lost love.

According to a statement, it is “set against the backdrop of the Indian subcontinent, the multilingual series will involve “intricate, highly stylised action sequences never before seen on screen in India”.
