New Beyoncé song for “The Lion King”

Disney’s live action remake of “The Lion King” won’t hit theatres until July 19th, but Disney has marked its world premiere screening last night with the release of a new song from Beyoncé.

It’s called “Spirit”.

According to a statement from Disney, the song will be part of a musical ode to the movie, an album called “The Lion King: The Gift.”

That album, which is executive produced by Beyoncé, will be released the same day as the movie: July 19th.

Beyoncé voices Nala in the movie, which also features Donald Glover as Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, John Oliver as Zazu, and the return of James Earl Jones as Mufasa.
