Sir Elton John is not a fan of “The Lion King” remake.
The reason: he believes they messed the music up.
The legendary singer, who provided the music for the original animated film, made the revelation during an interview with British GQ.
He is quoted as saying: “Music was so much a part of the original and the music in the current film didn’t have the same impact. The magic and joy were lost.”
The soundtrack from the original 1994 film contains such classics by Sir Elton like “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and “Circle of Life.”
The remake, released in July, featured remakes of the original songs.
It was also accompanied by a curated album titled “The Gift” by Beyoncé, who also lent her voice to the movie alongside Donald Glover, Seth Rogen and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Sir Elton however did have something of a hand in the new soundtrack.
According to CNN, he performs the song “Never Too Late” and also co-wrote the Beyoncé track “Spirit” which she performs in the film.
