Sony has teased a third “Venom” movie.
According to a report by Screen Rant, confirmation came during Sony’s CinemaCon panel: the studio closed out its session by showing a sizzle reel of upcoming projects.
No writer, director, or stars have been officially named, although Tom Hardy will be back as Eddie Brock, the role he played in 2018’s “Venom” and 2021’s “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”.
According to Screen Rant, the confirmation of “Venom 3” continues Sony’s plans to build its Spider-Man Universe.
It says while the studio does not have any MCU movies coming out for the rest of 2022, there will be a lot of Sony Marvel content in 2023: Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s “Kraven the Hunter” and Dakota Johnson’s “Madame Web” will be released in theaters next year.
Also set for release in 2023 is “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”, which is the sequel to the critically acclaimed computer animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”.
