Families of the murdered fishermen and other concerned citizens are planning a peaceful prayer observance outside Whitehall on Monday from 10am to 2pm.
Representatives of the Claxton Bay and Carli Bay Fishing Associations and Fishermen and Friends of the Sea will deliver a letter to the Prime Minister as well.
They are calling for a Cabinet appointed Multi-Stakeholder Committee to recommend measures to increase our safety at sea and to protect our maritime borders.
The fisherfolk are appealing for a functional radar system, repair of Coast Guard interceptors, and implementation of Coast Guard community bases as well as legislative amendments for security at sea.
They also want subsidies or tax exemptions on basic survival at sea equipment, for fishermen to apply for permits to purchase flare launchers, and more.
