Father charged for beating daughters over a bottle of honey mustard


    Bail has been granted to a 35-year-old man who allegedly beat his daughters after being unable to find a bottle of honey mustard.

    The TTPS says on April 5th, the girls – ages eight and nine – were at their Beetham Gardens home when their father allegedly arrived intoxicated.

    According to the girls, their father attempted to find a bottle of honey mustard, but when he was unable to do so, became enraged and began to physically assault them.

    The girls were taken to hospital where they were medically treated for injuries allegedly stemming from the ordeal.

    The man was charged with two counts of cruelty to two children and was granted $10,000 bail after appearing before Port-of-Spain Magistrate Indar Jagroo yesterday.

    The accused was also ordered by to report daily to the Child Protection Unit and will reappear on May 17th.
