Finance Minister investigates newspaper reports surrounding Trinidad Tourism Limited

An investigation has been launched into a report that the board of Trinidad Tourism Limited was mandated to serve for another two years.

This is according to the Tourism Ministry which referred to an article published today.

The article claims that at an Annual General Meeting in February this year, the board was given the instructions by Finance Ministry representatives.

However, the Ministry says the board was appointed in 2017 to serve until August 2019.

It says the Finance Minister has started a probe to determine the origin and authorisation of any development that would have happened outside the necessary Cabinet oversight.
