Some of the stories regarding problems in the exchange of $100 notes are not true.
This is according to Finance Minister Colm Imbert, who was today quizzed by reporters on difficulties and issues allegedly experienced by persons looking to get the new polymer notes.
Mr Imbert says his Ministry will address any problems citizens may have, however there must be proper information.
In particular, there have been reports of elderly persons being unable to change their savings, which they cannot specifically account for.
Mr Imbert offered up this suggestion.
Also, for complete clarity, the Minister explained the actual point in time in which the old $100 bill will become useless.
Mr Imbert was speaking during today’s post-cabinet news briefing.
