The Board of Inland Revenue is reassuring persons of the reliability of its e-Tax Service.
The organization says it has taken note of reports regarding interruptions in access to the service.
It maintains however that e-Tax services have been consistently and reliably available, with the exception of a scheduled maintenance from 4:30pm on October 16th to 4pm on October 18th.
It says persons should note the two ways in which taxpayers may file returns:
- Logged in service for taxpayers with ttconnect IDs
- Non-logged in service for all taxpayers, especially those without ttconnect IDs
It says all taxpayers are able to use the non-logged in option to prepare and submit returns, and have been able to do so since March 2020.
It adds that at a point in time there was an issue that prevented those with ttconnect IDs from logging on to file returns, but insists this issue has since been resolved.
According to the BIR, as at October 27th 2020, approximately 100,000 corporation tax and individual tax returns have been filed utilising the e-Tax platform.
