Energy Minister Franklin Khan has been ordered to use his authority to ensure information from Petrotrin, which was at the centre of a recent Privy Council ruling, is made available and public.

The case was brought by activist Ravi Balgobin, over the disclosure of a judgment in arbitration proceedings between Petrotrin and World GTL over the failed gas-to-liquids plant, as well as witness statements used by the State to discontinue a lawsuit against former Petrotrin executive chairman Malcolm Jones.

Speaking during today’s post-cabinet briefing, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley insisted that Government had nothing to hide.

Dr Rowley also responded to concerns expressed by the Privy Council, that there may have been political interference in the decision to drop those charges against Mr Jones.
