Government is accusing the Opposition of ignoring its attempts to get the Income Tax Amendment Bill passed in the Parliament.
According to Minister Fitzgerald Hinds, the Finance Minister wrote twice to the Opposition Leader, emphasizing the importance of passing this Bill in November.
He claims there was absolutely no response.
The Bill facilitates the exchange of income tax information with the European Union and Global Forum member states, and failure to implement it could see this country being blacklisted by the EU.
And Communications Minister Stuart Young says some local entities are already feeling the pressure.
The Opposition has denied obstructing passage of the Bill, and has instead labelled it “bad legislation”.
