Group reportedly given permission to hold another QPS event

Organisers of last Sunday’s demonstration at the Queen’s Park Savannah have reportedly been granted permission by police for another event this Saturday.

This is according to a media release from the First Wave Movement which says its upcoming rally has been given approval via a letter from the T&T Police Service.

They have also reportedly been informed that police will be present on Saturday at the Savannah to maintain law and order.

First Wave Movement Leader, Umar Abdullah, says he will ensure all public health protocols are observed and maintained.

Last Sunday’s demonstration was dispersed after police used teargas – a move which has since been condemned by several public figures.
