Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar says the Local Government Election cannot be held in 2019.

She explains that how the law is framed, seats become vacant on the anniversary date of the last local government election (November 28th) and there must be five weeks notice before the next elections can be held

Mrs. Persad-Bissessar says it could be held between in January or February.

However, the official date has not yet been revealed by the Prime Minister, and the UNC leader is calling on him to call the election.
