Man accused of stabbing off-duty policeman reappears in court

The man accused of stabbing an off-duty policeman last month has reappeared in the Siparia Magistrates’ Court.

Newsday reports that Clive Barkie Atherly’s first court appearance was on April 17th when he was denied him bail and told of his rights to apply to a judge in chambers on the issue.

During his 2nd appearance yesterday, he was again informed of this.

The construction worker is facing five charges stemming from the incident on April 13th.
