The Maraval RC Primary School will be fumigated and professionally sanitized on Monday.
This follows the news that a student at the school tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a release from the Catholic Education Board of Management, the last time any student or staff member would have been in direct contact with the student, would have been Wednesday July 22nd 2020.
It says the parents/guardians of all standard five students will soon be contacted to inform on the date, time and location when the student will be tested, via a swab sample taken from the back of the throat, for COVID-19.
The same will be done for teaching staff and all other personnel who were on duty at the school during this week.
All students of the standard five class are also to remain under quarantine, meaning the student does not leave his/her home nor interact with any other person who is not a member of his/her own household.
In addition to the school, the RC Parish Church on the compound will also be fumigated and sanitized as a precaution, despite students not having access to it over the past week.
This means all Masses at the Parish Church have been cancelled for this weekend, with immediate effect.
