Two persons, including a Venezuelan woman, are assisting police with their investigation following the seizure of 29.3 kilograms of marijuana at sea yesterday.
Around 4:50am, Coast Guard officers were on patrol when they detected an unregistered vessel in Chacachacare waters.
A high speed chase ensued, however the TTCG was able to stop the vessel in the vicinity of Salt Pond and found five packets of marijuana in a red crocus bag.
It has an estimated street value of TT$29,300.
The vessel was subsequently towed to Staubles Bay, Chaguaramas, and two occupants were taken into police custody.
The search is continuing for additional suspects.
