While maxi drivers are accepting the $2000 fuel grant, there are other issues that have now been raised with Government.
Speaking after a meeting with the Works Minister today, Maxi Taxi Association head Eon Hewitt told 103.1FM that the cost of items such as sanitizers have not been taken into account.
He did not give further details about the meeting.
Earlier, 103.1FM News spoke with the Taxi Drivers’ Network President Adrian Acosta.
His association is welcoming the grant but hoping it is paid as soon as possible.
He says a driver on his route, Chaguanas to San Fernando, runs up an average fuel bill of $180 per day, usually working 6 days a week.
