Not all tropical waves bring rain.
This is according to meteorologist Stefan Dickson, who is urging persons to learn more about weather patterns.
This week T&T had a brush with the first tropical wave of the season -while cloudy conditions and showers were reported in parts of east Trinidad, the majority of the country saw hot, sunny conditions.
The MET Service later stated that the wave’s axis was aligned in such a way that most of the rainfall occurred in northeast and east of T&T.
Mr Dickson told 103.1FM News that while many tropical waves do in fact bring rain, this is not always the case since they can vary in intensity.
Mr Dickson also dispelled the notion that it is simple to forecast rain.
