A Guyanese woman diagnosed with COVID-19 after her death, stopped in Trinidad and Tobago on her way home from the US.
This confirmation came from today from National Security Minister Stuart Young, as he responded to a reporter who pointed out that flights from New York to Guyana sometimes stop in T&T.
The Minister assured that tracing is now being done by health officials.
The 52 year old woman from East Demerara died at the Georgetown Public Hospital yesterday.
According to reports, she possibly contracted the virus while in New York, where a number of cases have been confirmed in recent days.
Minister Young also provided an update on a COVID-19 case in Canada in a person whose recent travel history included T&T.
He says that person stopped in a number of destinations AFTER leaving this country.
CAL has since issued a statement.
