Officials are being urged to find a permanent solution for the collapsed Roopsingh Road bridge in Carapichaima.

On Tuesday, a temporary bailey bridge was commissioned to bring some relief following the original bridge’s collapse on December 17th, 2021.

According to Couva North MP Ravi Ratiram, the power of the people, who peacefully demonstrated, resulted in the repair.

However, both the MP and Councillor Dubraj Persad are calling on Local Government Minister Kazim Hosein to work on a permanent solution.

They have also raised issues about the Ragoonanan Road West Bridge and the Randy Carter Bridge.

According to them, both are impassable and present a serious inconvenience to residents.
