National Security Minister Stuart Young will accompany a team of 100 defense force personnel to the Bahamas to help with relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Dorian.
Speaking during a media briefing today, Mr Young said they will leave on a chartered flight on Sunday morning, with the troops to be deployed for 30 days.
Also accompanying the troops will be Chief of Defence Staff Air Commodore Darryl Daniel, who outlined their functions once they hit the ground.
Mr Young meanwhile says while a request was also made for WASA engineers in addition to a T&TEC team, those persons will not be deployed just yet.
Mr Young also stated that no T&T nationals are yet known to have been affected by the passage of Hurricane Dorian.
