NHC monitoring two Tropical Waves in the Atlantic

The National Hurricane Centre in Miami is monitoring two tropical waves at this time, which are over the Atlantic moving towards the Caribbean islands.

The NHC at 8am today stated that both have a medium chance of development within five days.

The first, which is located just a couple hundred miles east of the Windward Islands, continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms.

It is not expected to develop further before reaching the islands later today.

And the second wave is further east in the Atlantic, closer to Africa.

The NHC says it can become a tropical depression during the middle-to-latter part of this week while the system moves across the central and western portions of the tropical Atlantic.
