The National Insurance Board says the Salary Relief Grant is not available at this time.
As such, it is asking persons not to visit its offices to enquire about this facility, as large gatherings pose a serious risk to employees, customers and members of the public.
Yesterday, Finance Minister Colm Imbert announced that persons who lost their jobs due to COVID-19, would be eligible for a grant of up to $1,500.
In anticipation of this measure, a number of persons reportedly gathered outside various NIB offices today.
Minister Imbert stated yesterday as well that qualification criteria and other details would be worked out over the next week or so.
