NP Chairman Sahid Hosein is assuring there is no issue of ‘bad’ fuel getting into the system.
Over the past few days there have been claims by motorists of gas burning faster, and questions raised over the quality of fuel at the pumps.
According to Mr Hosein, before any product can be taken in by NP, it must be tested.
Now that the Petrotrin refinery has been shut down, fuel is being imported.
NP will continue to distribute the fuel to motorists, as it has always done, however up to yesterday, Government says the imported fuel had not yet reached any of the local gas pumps.
