National Petroleum’s role as a distributor and its relationship with Petrotrin remain unchanged despite the importation of fuel for local use.
Petrotrin has shut down its refinery and opted to buy fuel from external sources to supply the gas pumps across the country.
Speaking with 103.1FM News, NP Chairman Sahid Hosein says even with this major change, it is business as usual for the company.
Yesterday, Communication Minister Stuart Young announced that the first shipment of imported fuel was taken by Petrotrin on Wednesday.
He said the imported fuel had not yet reached the pumps.
